Diversity, Equity & Inclusion Policy
Our commitment to an inclusive and equitable research community
The Science and Information (SAI) Organization is committed to fostering a research community that is diverse, equitable, and inclusive of all backgrounds, identities, and perspectives. This policy applies to all of our conferences, committees, and events.
1. Our Commitment
We welcome authors, reviewers, speakers, and attendees regardless of race, ethnicity, national origin, gender identity or expression, sexual orientation, age, disability, religion, career stage, or institutional affiliation. We strive to ensure that opportunities to submit, review, present, and serve on committees are available on the basis of merit and contribution, not identity or background.
2. Programme and Committee Diversity
We actively encourage broad geographic and institutional representation among our Technical Programme Committees, keynote speakers, and session chairs, and we monitor our committee composition with the aim of improving diversity year over year.
3. Accessibility
We aim to make our conferences accessible to participants with disabilities, including through venue accessibility considerations and virtual/hybrid participation options where available. Attendees with specific accessibility requirements are encouraged to contact the organizing committee in advance.
4. Inclusive Environment
All participants are expected to treat one another with respect and professionalism, in line with our Code of Conduct. Harassment or discrimination of any kind is not tolerated at any of our events, whether in person or online.
5. Continuous Improvement
We regularly review our policies, review processes, and committee practices to identify and remove barriers to participation, and we welcome feedback from our community on how we can improve.
6. Reporting Concerns
If you have concerns relating to diversity, equity, or inclusion at any of our conferences, please contact the organizing committee via the relevant conference's Contact page.
