Saeid Nahavandi received a Ph.D. from Durham University, U.K. in 1991. He is an Alfred Deakin Professor, Pro Vice-Chancellor, Chair of Engineering, and the Director for the Institute for Intelligent Systems Research and Innovation at Deakin University in Australia. His research interests include modeling of complex systems, robotics and haptics. He has published over 950 papers in various international journals and conferences. He is a Fellows of the Australian Academy of Technological Sciences and Engineering (FTSE), Fellow of Engineers Australia (FIEAust), CPEng, Fellow of the Institution of Engineering and Technology (FIET), CEng, and Fellow of IEEE (FIEEE). He is the Senior Associate Editor of the IEEE Systems Journal, Editor-in-Chief IEEE Transactions on Systems, Man and Cybernetics Magazine, Associate Editor of the IEEE Transactions on Systems, Man and Cybernetics: Systems, and an IEEE Press Board member.
